Members wishing to go as observers will  also have to pay for accommodation at the hotel  9th June Taste of Chocolate  At Ampleforth Plus, Gilling East from 2.00pm to 4.00pm Watch and learn about the history and origins  to hand dipping and rolling, plus various decoration techniques such as spinning and lustre all from a  demo by a talented Chocolatier. There will be opportunities to taste and you will leave with a box of 12  chocolates. Refreshments will be served on arrival and on completion Cost £28 members £30 non  members cheques payable to NYEFWI. Closing date 5th May  11th June Sunday Malton Ramble  This is the first walk organised by Malton WI and our first weekend walkso it would be lovely to see it  well supported. We start at Amotherby Village Hall where we meet for coffee at 9.30am. This is a  picturesque circular walk fo approx 51/2 miles with gradual ascents and descents. After a short road  walk we start to take in the magnificent views acrossRyedale and Castle Howard. We return for lunch  at the Village Hall. Dogs on leads welcome closing date 11th May.   21st June Easingwold Ramble  The walk starts at the Parish rooms,Tanpit Lane Easingwold.There is limited parking outside but  additional parking in the Market Place which is a two minute walk away. Coffee is at 9.30am for a  10.00am start on this approx 4 mile walk. This is fairly easy with a few stiles. There is a short climb to  the top of Claypenny Hill. Lunch will be back at the Parish rooms, dogs on leads welcome Closing date  25th May  28th June The Science of the Cream Tea  Scampston Walled Garden Conservatory, Scampston (near Malton) Members only Our eminent  speaker Bronek Wedzicha, is Emeritus Professor of Food Science at the University of Leeds who will  explain how this uniquely British Institution is, in fact a captivating science experiment, to be illustrated  with entertaining hands on demonstrations.The price includes cream tea and all day admission to the  acclaimed garden. Members can arrive at any time to enjoy the plants and borders. The talk and  demonstration by the speaker will begin at 2.30pm and will be followed by a delicious cream tea. Book  now closing date 25th May Cost £20..  5th July Crook Hall and Gardens  By coach to see this 13th Century Hall with stunning gardens, just a short walk from Durham Market  Place.Catering facilities are available at the venue and the town is only a short walk away. Coach pick  up Thirsk and York Cost £25 Please state preferred pick up point on booking form Book now closing  date 4th June  4th to 6th September Garden Holiday  A superb break in Cheshire. We will visit four gardens during our visit, Arley House and  Gardens,Durham Massey House and Gardens,Bidduph Grange Gardens and Ness Botanical Gardens  and all included in the price of £290.00.and staying at the 5*Royal Class Coach, two nights  accommodation at the Best WesternEverglades Hotel in Widnes. There will be a three course dinner on  both evenings and English breakfast and entry to all the gardens. SarahHopps will be our tour guide  and resident garden expert. The coach will pick up in Thirsk and York. A deposit of £70 per person is  required by 9th December with the balance to be paid by 16th June 2017. This event is on a first come  first served basis. There is a single supplement of £60 payable with the balance .
